Prajnaparamita Kadampa Buddhist Center offers meditation instruction and opportunities to practice Kadampa Buddhism. For centuries, this time-honored tradition has made Buddha's teachings and meditation practices available to people throughout the world. Kadampa Buddhism is a Mahayana tradition, meaning that our primary intention is to benefit all living beings.
Our commitment is to be of public service in Southern California by providing practical and accessible meditation classes that will help busy modern people learn to develop and keep balanced, peaceful minds. By training in meditation and other Buddhist practices everyone can improve their quality of life by developing inner peace, compassion, and wisdom.
Modeled after the World Peace Cafes and Kadampa Hotels throughout the world, we would like to expand our intimate meditation center into a storefront space in order to provide the local community with a place to relax and experience inner peace that is friendly and comfortable. We plan on offering a high end bookstore, gift shop and tonic bar for the local community in order to serve them in a way that will be, for some, more accessible than attending a class or workshop. Our number one goal in expanding is to better serve our community and to be more visibly accessible to them in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. With free WiFi and a tonic bar, we will attract repeat clientele providing them with a sanctuary of peace in the busy world.

We will also be able to expand the present meditation room by using the entire back space exclusively as a meditation space.
These additions will provide us with more exposure to the people of Santa Monica and the Westside, allowing them to connect with Dharma in a modern way and will enable us to buy our own building in the future.
